Once known as Middle East's first craft brewery, Hawkers was founded in 2006 during the war between Israel and Hizbollah. The brewery was relaunched in Australia and given a name to reminisce of the days when the team took bags full of beer samples to the streets, going door to door around venues to promote their wares like the hawkers of old. Today, Hawkers is recognised as one of Melbourne's largest independent brewery and the "People's Choice Best Beer" title holder at the Great Australian Beer Festival.
