Founder Joseph Ruwet returned to Belgium from his trip to Normandy, France inspired by an idea to launch his own cidery. He had a plan and in 1898, he initiated a unique production process of the region's famous drink, the cider. The rich soil and wonderful climate in the Land of Herve in Belgium, which was also his home region, provided the best orchards in the Western Europe. Business boomed as the unique and fresh taste of Joseph's ciders was an instant hit among the villagers and citizens of Belgium. His legacy prospers as the the cidery was passed on to three generations. The now Belgium-famous sparkling drink, dubbed Cidre Ruwet, is a gem and a classic in both on and off trade, so much so that they even got a Royal Warrant to become the Official Supplier of the Royal Court of Belgium's Royal Family!
