Huyghe Brewery (or Brouwerij Huyghe) was founded in 1906 by Leon Huyghe in the city of Melle where brewing had been ongoing since 1654. In 1988, Huyghe launched its legendary Delirium beers and in the 20th century, they introduced an exotic range of beers labelled under the brand, Mongozo.
Mongozo, well-known for its exotic range of beers, is the first beer brewer in the world to introduce a Pilsner combining three unique elements in one single bottle. Mongozo Premium Pilsner is certified Max Havelaar Fairtrade, organic, gluten-removed and is suitable for vegans. This innovative technical achievement is the result of years of development on the part of the brewer. What makes this pilsner extra special is the fact that it is also the first Fairtrade Pilsner in the world. Due to the increasing demand for Fairtrade, organic and gluten-free products, Mongozo Premium Pilsner really is a valuable addition to any range. Instead of purchasing three beers in order to offer these unique elements, buying just one beer is now sufficient. The beer is slightly bitter with a taste of hops, has a refreshing taste and, with an alcohol content of 5%, is easy to drink.
