Shock Top began as a seasonal brew called 'Spring Heat Spiced Wheat' and was brewed in 2006. Using proprietary wheat and every ounce of the brewers' passion, this refreshing beer grew in popularity and even won gold and bronze in the ’06 & ’07 North America Beer Awards for best Belgian White. They shocked the beer world and renamed it to 'Shock Top'. Today, Shock Top is a national brand for Anheuser-Busch with many different varieties, including some special, limited edition brews that can be sampled at beer festivals across the country.
