You might know of me as the "Flanders Red-Brown Beer", or from my brewery's name who is recognised as one of the world's most revered brewer of traditional Belgian sour ales.
I am a blend of young and matured beer which provides for a perfect balance of caramelised roasted malts and tart fruit notes with subtle oak undertones and a refreshingly crisp, yet lingering finish. The matured beer used was aged for two years in the standing oak casks – a process that dates back to the middle ages and something that Rodenbach has been doing for nearly 200 years – which gives me a unique sweet-sour flavour and complex fruitiness that only the best wines produce. I am an approachable, unique and refreshing Belgian Sour Ale that pairs exceptionally well with foods.
