“Kriek” is simply the Flemish word for cherry, and that tarty red little fruit happens to be the main ingredient used to create me. I'm brewed on the Bacchus Flemish Old Brown Ale base, which sets me apart from most fruit beers that are typically based on Lambics. As a result, besides tasting me sweet and sour cherry flavour, you'll also get hints of sweet caramel and rich red wine. I'm made with indulgence in mind and presented to you hand-wrapped and in a champagne bottle.
Founded in 1865, Van Honsebrouck Brewery is one of the few rare breweries in the world to produce spontaneously fermented ales as well as lagers, and played a crucial role in defining the craft of Belgian beers. Now in its 5th generation of the family brewing, this historical brewery now brews a diverse range of award-winning and highly sought-after Belgian ales.
