Rochefort 10 is a Trappist beer created just before the 50s. It is the most alcoholic beer from the Abbaye de Rochefort and also the richest. Sometimes called the “Wonder”, it displays a dark colour with very dark mahogany glints. Its colour is very limpid despite the fact that it lies on a yeast bed. It is topped by a beige fleeting head, upon which strikes a relatively compact effervescence. The nose and the mouth unveil a remarkable alcoholic intensity with caramel flavours. First, the flavours are soft but they rapidly increase in strength. Then, these latter feature a full, spicy, slightly bitter mouth. Fruity notes of ripe plums and cacao end this perfect tasting. The bitterness remains low, which leaves a geat deal of room for malt and fruity flavours. The body is quite powerful but noble and distinguished.
