Pauwel Kwak, my brewer, debuted in the 1980s and was named after an 18th-century innkeeper and brewer. I showcase a rich amber colour with a slightly sweet, generously malty character throughout my aroma and flavour. Subdued but pleasant spiced hops present an excellent balance with the ripe juiciness from the grain and a fruity, meringue-like softness within each sip. Perhaps the most recognizable element of Pauwel Kwak is that I'm usually served, with respect for tradition, in my very own distinctive, curvaceous glassware that's held upright in a wooden holster. Fun fact: Pauwel Kwak's iconic glass shape was invented to be hung on carriages so that coachmen could enjoy their beers during transport!
