I am Duvel Tripel Hop Citra — bright, bold, and devilishly hoppy. I began life as a rebellious experiment in 2012, but the world couldn’t get enough of my intense citrus charm, so I made my way from limited edition to permanent legend. My foundation is unmistakably Duvel: brewed with Scottish yeast, crisp spring water, and a golden blend of Saaz and Styrian Golding hops. But then comes the twist — my third hop, Citra, flown in from the sun-drenched Yakima Valley in Washington, where it’s grown on tribal land leased from the Yakama Nation since the 1940s.

It’s this special hop, meticulously harvested and slow-dried to perfection, that gives me my explosive notes of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and bright floral aromas. Thanks to dry-hopping, those delicate oils are never boiled away — they stay intact, boosting my fragrance and flavour while keeping my bitterness balanced. At 9.5% ABV, I may sound intense, but I’m dangerously drinkable, best enjoyed in a proper tulip glass to let my effervescence shine.

I’m more than just a hop bomb. I’m a statement of brewing innovation, a marriage of Belgian tradition and American edge. Each sip is a journey — from my lively golden pour to my layered, expressive finish — and a reminder that even the devil has a citrus side.
