My name, Mort Subite, means “Sudden Death” — a nod to the thrilling dice game once played in a lively Brussels café where the final throw could change your fortune in an instant. That very café, founded in 1928 by Théophile Vossen, lives on in spirit through me — a cherry bombshell born from wild fermentation and Belgian mischief, brewed in the heart of the Zenne Valley since 1686. 

I'm crafted from spontaneously fermented lambic, aged and blended with 17.5% cherry juice and a handful of whole Morella cherries, all steeped into a barrel-aged base that sings with life. I glow a radiant ruby red, crowned with a luscious pink foam. My aroma bursts with ripe cherries, teasing your senses with the promise of summer orchards and playful sourness.

Take a sip — you’ll feel the kiss of sweet fruit up front, followed by that iconic lambic tang: tart, wild, and deeply refreshing. It’s a flavour rollercoaster, shaped by local wild yeasts and centuries of tradition. I’m not just a beer.
