I am Delirium Nocturnum — the dark side of the Pink Elephant, brewed to complete the delirium.
After Tremens took the world by storm in 1989, Brouwerij Huyghe knew the madness couldn’t end there. And so I was born — deeper, darker, and brewed for the other half of the day. I pour a rich brown-red beneath a creamy beige head, and from the first swirl, I whisper aromas of caramel, mocha, chocolate, and spice, with subtle hints of coriander and liquorice.
My 8.5% ABV carries you gently into the night. I start smooth and warming, then unfurl layers of roasted malt, dark fruit, and bitter cocoa, grounded by a flicker of sour and a soft sweetness. Where Tremens brings the fire, I bring the embers — glowing, complex, and comforting.
I’m not just a darker version — I’m the second chapter. The companion piece. The Pink Elephant after sunset, it's midnight alter ego.

Huyghe Brewery was founded in 1906 in the city of Melle, Belgium, where beer brewing has been ongoing since 1654. The brewery’s most famous beer Delirium, also known as the Pink Elephant Beer, is named after a medical condition for alcoholics, Delirium Tremens, and its unique flavour is the result of using 3 different types of yeasts in the mix. This legendary ale was not only nominated the “Best Beer in the World”, but it also went on to win multiple awards over the years. Besides producing iconic beers, Huyghe Brewery also strongly believes in renewable energy and corporate social responsibility, and it is currently one of the most environmentally sustainable breweries in Europe!
