I am Monk’s Stout Dupont — born in the 1950s, reborn in 2011, and brewed to defy time itself.
Once a staple of our farmhouse brewery, I faded into obscurity as tastes shifted. But the monks never forgot me. Sixty years later, they resurrected my original recipe — untouched in spirit, yet refined with modern brewing precision. My name, my label, even my quiet confidence remain the same.
Pour me and behold my dark, ruby-tinted robe — a cloak of mystery that hints at the layers within. Aromas of roasted malts bloom into deep notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and the lightest trace of dried fruit. On the tongue, I am refreshingly dry with not a hint of sweetness — only a crisp, citrus-tinged bitterness from noble hops, and a faint earthy funk that nods to my rustic roots.
I am bold without bravado, elegant without excess. My restrained 5.2% ABV makes me endlessly drinkable, especially when paired with blue cheese, sushi, or briny shellfish. Serve me slightly chilled or at cellar temperature and let the layers unfold.

Founded in 1844, the Brasserie Dupont is a farm-brewery that specialises in the production of honey and Saison beers - the latter of which were typically brewed in winter for consumption of the scorching fields in summer. Dupont's ales all have a remarkable depth of flavour thanks to the unique yeast strain that the brewery uses at very high temperatures. Dupont’s most popular brew, the Saison Dupont, continues to satisfy beer lovers all around while setting the benchmark for Saison beer style.
