Sour Ale

Sour ales are tart, dry and funky beers. Relying on old traditional techniques and fermented with wild yeast to develop sour flavours, sour beers has experienced a resurgence due to its uniquely tongue-twisting experience. Typical sour ales are straw or golden in appearance and characteristically tart and dry. Gose-style has a tinge of saltiness, while berliner weisse are typically low in ABV and brightly carbonated. Some brewers infuse fruits to make fruity sour ales. Traditional styles like Belgian lambics are often fruit-infused.
